Slender, cool season, drought tolerant, twining annual or short-lived perennial, adapted to most well drained soils including soils with low fertility. Not adapted to poorly drained sites. Highly palatable and nutritious and a good source for soil nitrogen when plowed under. Excellent choice for green manure crop, cover or pasture.
