Wildrye, Russian

Cool season, perennial bunchgrass with extensively developed root system. Adapted to fertile, fine textured soils. May be difficult to establish, but once established it is extremely drought tolerant. Starts growth in very early spring and, after ripening, produces abundant green forage throughout summer and fall. Excellent palatability to wildlife and livestock.
